Most Sales Trainers Can't Train

Wayne Rooney was one of England’s best footballers. Jurgen Klopp was a modest player at best.

Yet, Klopp is a world-class manager, and Rooney… well, let’s just say his coaching record isn’t quite as impressive.

Player vs. Coach Salesperson vs. Sales Trainer

Watch our latest video to see how this misunderstanding often leads to the wrong hire.

Too many sales trainers advertise how great they are at selling.

That’s nice - but can they actually train others?

Making a great sales call doesn’t mean you can teach someone else to do it.

Posting outbound calls on YouTube doesn’t prove you can coach a team.

Being the top salesperson doesn’t make you the best trainer. Often, it means the opposite.

The best trainers don’t just sell - they transform sales teams through enabling others.

Klopp wasn’t the best player. As he said himself, he had 4th Division feet for playing but a 1st Division head for management.

That’s what made him an elite coach. The same applies to sales training.

Sales experience? Important.

Ability to develop others? Essential.

Don’t choose a trainer just because they were a top salesperson - choose one who can actually make your team better.

Hire the right skills for the right job.
